My Ignited Experience! Part 2: Brendon Bruchard


This blog is to share information shared by Brendon Bruchard at our USANA annual convention.
He shared the way to improve one's quality of life is to activate 10 drives that make us human.
The book shows how these drives shape what humans think, feel, and do in life.

Before convention, I was not very familiar with Brendon Burchard, but wow, what a speaker! What a story! In Life's Golden Ticket, Brendon Burchard shares how he feels he is given a second chance at life when faced with death as a young man in a car accident & asked himself these questions in that moment: 
 Did I live?
 Did I love!?
 Did I even matter?
 Did I have purpose?

He realized that @ the end, you evaluate your life, but why wait for the end, when it is too late!?

We must learn how to activate our basic human drives to create a strong charge -to give us courage that nothing can hold us back & feel fully alive!




We have 10 things that drive us (He has a thing for C words!):

Baseline Drives - must haves                     Forward Drives - that create growth & change

Competence (self knowledge)                              Challenge (Something worth fighting for,

Connection (fully engaged relationships)              Consciousness (the thoughts we think -> feel)

Fear keeps us from moving forward, unless we see it in a different perspective 
  1. Loss pain --> what will I gain?
  2. Process pain --> commit to mastery - so maybe it takes 100 times
  3. Outcome pain --> look forward to the change, get psyched about it
When you come to the edge of the light... --> fly.
This touched me:
He told a story of a student that he helped overcome her fear of speaking in his class,
She said, "You're the first person who told me I have potential"
Who can you inspire today to see their potential!?

What is your primary purpose?
The average person watches 4 hours of tv a day - 13 years of television in your lifetime!

Lay out the day on a piece of paper divided into these 4 categories:
  • Projects
  • People
  • Waiting on & Reach out to
  • Priorities (3-7 things)

Do you have who you are set in your mind - your ideal self?

Leader
Joyful
Passionate
Set it as an alarm -
Are you being your ideal self? Is what you are doing in congruency with this self!?

Design your life
Is your life caged? 
Is your life comfortable? 
Is your life charged?

Be Open & Observant in the moment
Be Future oriented
